A quarterly journal devoted to the publication of research by Latin American historians and other social scientists on problems and issues in the history of Latin America. The articles generally emphasize the culture of the region, though research using other approaches and perspectives is highlighted as well. Book reviews are included. The Americas is published by the Academy of American Franciscan History and is widely read by professional historians, social scientists, and others who carry out archival research in and on the region's history.
