1 Please write a brief but comprehensive description of your book (approximately 200 words) stating its purpose, thesis, method, scope, and contribution to the field. Please include mention of special features such as source material and method of treatment that contribute to the argument. Continue on a separate sheet if necessary.

2. For what audience(s) have you written the book? How do you expect it to be used?

3. Please list (author, title, publisher and publication date) and briefly evaluate recent books that can be expected to compete with your book.

4. What contribution does your book make that these other books do not?

5.    Has any part of your manuscript been published previously, or do you plan to publish any portion simultaneously? When? By what publisher? Do you own the rights to the previously published material? If not, have you obtained permission for its use? [Note: You may have to obtain permission to use quotations of prose or poetry from the work of others. Please consult the Press.]

6. Do you wish to include in your book any material other than text, i.e., charts, graphs, maps, photographs? Do you have good reproducible copies of them? In the case of such materials that were not originated by you, do you have permission to use them?
